Abbie’s CertTESOL journey
Abbie joined the course as a recent university graduate with experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students and volunteering in refugee ESOL classes. She wanted to develop the practical skills and confidence to move into ESOL teaching. Since completing the Trinity CertTESOL, she now leads her own ESOL classes twice a week.
Rebecca’s CertTESOL journey
Rebecca joined the course with no previous teaching experience, but with a background supporting refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK and Europe. Seeing the difference that learning English could make inspired her to develop the practical skills and confidence to teach it herself. Since completing the Trinity CertTESOL, she has begun using her skills in community ESOL work across Greater Manchester.
Laurence’s CertTESOL journey
Laurence joined the course with no previous teaching experience and doubts about his grammar knowledge and whether he could become an English language teacher. Teaching real ESOL learners, receiving practical feedback and seeing his progress gradually built his confidence. He is now using what he learnt in his current role and considering opportunities he had never previously imagined.
Fatima’s CertTESOL Story
Fatima joined the course with a Master’s degree in TESOL and a strong understanding of teaching theory, but no practical classroom experience. Through teaching real ESOL learners, she developed the confidence and practical skills to apply her knowledge in the classroom. She now hopes to use those skills to support English language learners in her community.
